Skin surgical procedures explained

Excision

This means complete removal of a lesion such as a skin cancer by completely cutting it out.  This is performed on skin cancer to prevent it from growing or spreading and can also be performed on benign lesions if they are causing irritation or cosmetic concern.

Excision and suture closure

Excision  is the most commonly used approach for removing skin cancer.  This means that these skin cancer is completely cut out.   I can offer this in my office treatment room surgical facility.  Procedures are done under local anaesthetic.
